Since early 2025, Adel founded and currently leads AHK Management Consultants as the CEO.
He currently provides executive advice and consulting services to support and advise leadership in various areas including innovative, efficient, and cost-effective solutions, integrated approaches, climate adaptation, sustainability, resiliency, strategic planning, and mentoring and training leaders.
Adel has over 37 years of experience in transformative and innovative public policy and infrastructure management at the global, national, and local levels, He consistently developed efficient, cost-effective solutions grounded in multi-benefit thinking, integrated approaches, climate adaptation, sustainability, resiliency, and community engagement. He is a Certified Professional Civil Engineer, Nationally Board-Certified Environmental Engineer, and National Water Environment Federation Fellow.
As a global and national transformative, innovative public policy and environmental leader and during his 37-year tenure in public service, he held various leadership roles where he enhanced service delivery, built strong partnerships, empowered staff, and championed innovation. He served in executive leadership roles as General Manager and CEO serving Los Angeles and Southern California in wastewater management, environmental management, transportation,
and water management. Through his work on environmental protection, public policy development, and infrastructure program delivery, he uplifted communities and enhanced the quality of life for all with no one left behind, Adel serves on various local, state, and national boards including the Los Angeles Beirut Sister Cities, and the Arab American Association of Engineers and Architects. He also served on the Boards of the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) and the International Road Federation (IRF). He has been recognized with several distinguished honors, including the Heal the Bay “Walk the Talk Award”; the Los Angeles Rotary Club Award, the LABSC Award, the Paul Harris Fellow
Award, the LA Conservation Corps Award, the AAEES Edward J. Clearly Award (2021) and the
Climate Resolve’s “Coolest in LA” Award.
